Yes. Our courses are ASRT-approved. Specific course requirements for the state of California are as follows:
Limited Permit X-ray Technicians
- 24 credits related to the application of x-ray to the human body
- If the technician holds digital authorization, then 4 of the 24 credits must be specific to digital radiography.*
Certified Radiologic Technologists
- 24 credits related to the application of x-ray to the human body. 4 of the 24 credits must be specific to digital radiography. (Required for all CRTs)*
- If the CRT also holds a fluoroscopy permit, 4 of the 24 credits must be specific to radiation safety for the clinical use of fluoroscopy.**
- If the CRT also holds a mammography certificate, 10 of the 24 credits must be specific to mammography.
All credits submitted by residents of California must be specific to the application of x-ray. This includes modalities like CT, radiography, mammography, fluoroscopy, etc. but excludes topics like patient care, ethics, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine.
*Computed tomography will also satisfy the digital radiography requirement.
**For the fluoroscopy requirement, the course must cover fluoroscopy-specific material.
