This article is intended for administrators of institutions wanting to know how to create assignments from within the Prep application of the Clover Learning platform.
The following video will show you how to navigate to the assignment creation page, choose from three different assignment types - Exam Simulator, Quick Exam, and Saved Exam - and how to assign each.
Creating an Assignment (Step‑by‑Step)

Open Prep
- From the Clover Learning platform, go to Prep in the left navigation.

Go to Assignments
- Click Assignments → Create a New Assignment.

Select Assignment Type
- Choose one: Exam Simulator, Quick Exam, or Saved Exam.
(If you’re unsure which to pick, see “Assignment Types Explained” below.)
- Choose one: Exam Simulator, Quick Exam, or Saved Exam.

Configure Required Options
- Depending on the type you selected, set:

Type of Access (Reserved or Open)

- (For Saved Exam): select the exam from your Exam Library dropdown

Name the Assignment
- Use a clear, descriptive title (e.g., “Radiography Quick Exam – 25 Questions”).

Choose Recipients
- Assign to a Group or to Individual Learners.

Set Availability
- Add a Start Date and Due Date.

Create the Assignment
- Click Create Assignment.
- You’ll be taken to the Assignments page where you can see Active, Upcoming, and Past assignments.
Selecting the Best Exam Type
Use this section to choose the best assignment type for your goal.
Exam Simulator (Mock Registry)
- Purpose: Realistic practice mirroring the ARRT registry experience.

How it works:
- Always 200 questions
- Always timed
- Matches ARRT category weighting for the selected modality

You configure:
- Question Bank and Type of Access
- Best for: Summative checks, final practice before the registry.
Quick Exam
- Purpose: Short, randomized practice across all four PREP content categories.
- Preset lengths: 10, 25, or 50 questions

- Best for: Spot checks, warm-ups, frequent formative assessments.
Saved Exam (Custom Exam)
- Purpose: Assign an instructor‑built exam targeted to specific objectives.

How it works:
- Choose a previously created exam from your Exam Library via the dropdown.

- Simply select the saved custom exam you previously created.
- Best for: Focused practice on known weak areas or specific competencies.
